Five persons travelling by two minibuses that run on the Chisinau routes No. 119 and 113 sustained injuries in a road accident that happened on Cuza-Voda Blvd. in Botanica district this morning, April 14.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Lucia Gnatiuc said that preliminary investigations showed the accident was caused by the driver of the minibus running on route No. 119. He is aged 51 and is from Dubasari district. The driver didn’t respect the distance between the vehicles.

Update Lucia Gnatiuc stated that the person to blame for the accident is liable to a fine of 6,000 lei or up to three years in jail, if the traumas suffered by the passengers aren’t serious.

Update Chisinau Emergency Hospital spokesman Petru Cravet said that four women and a minor aged 12 were brought to the hospital. The passengers sustained minor injuries and didn’t need to be hospitalized. They were examined by doctors and were prescribed treatment that they can receive at home.
