Five AMN councilors from Straseni join MAE
Five members of the Straseni District Council who represent the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) announced that they decided to leave the party and join the European Action Movement (MAE). They did not deny that they thus follow Veaceslav Untila, who defected from the AMN and was later elected as president of the MAE, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Councilor Nicolae Pelin told a news conference that their decision was determined by the deviations from the democratic norms inside the AMN and certain unwise statements made by the present administration of the party.
“We expected that the committed mistakes will be admitted at the party's Congress and that the AMN will be reformed and the administration will be changed, but it did not happen so, “ Pelin said.
The five councilmen said they decided to join the MAE because they want to strengthen the right and center-right forces together with other colleagues.
The defection of the five councilors from the AMN will not affect the ratio of forces inside the Straseni District Council, where 23 members formed an Alliance for European Integration against 10 Communist councilors.
