Five agritourist pensions will be opened in Milestii Mici village by autumn

Five agritourist pensions will be set up in Milestii Mici village, Ialoveni district, until this autumn as part of the project “Rural Tourism in Milestii Mici Village”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The aim of project is to create rural tourism services in family-type pensions located in the old part of the village for the tourists that visit the Complex “Milestii Mici”. Also, the tourists will be able to take part in season and household works such as picking up of grapes and making of wine in autumn or painting of eggs on Easter. At a roundtable meting on January 26, the president of the Company “Spelleken Associates” Hans-Gerd Spelleken said that five families that own old inherited houses have been taught how to develop and promote tourist products during three months. Under the supervision of the architect and project manager, the designs of the houses were modified. The houses will be renovated and outfitted in a traditional style with Casa Mare (sitting room), yard and orchard. Each of the five households will have toilet facilities and by two double rooms for accommodation. The families will go on a study tour to a number of pensions in Moldova and Romania. To promote the new tourist destination, the project will participate in the International Tourism Fair in Berlin this March. During a campaign, the young people of the village will be asked to write about the interesting places of the settlement that will be included in a tourist guide. Hans-Gerd Spelleken says that if at least 5% of the about 18,000 tourists that visit the wine complex each year will stop in the village for the night, the project will be a success. The German economist considers that the idea can be developed. A hotel can be built in Milestii Mici, which is a semi-urban settlement. The project implemented in the village can be used as a model by other settlements. Svetlana Shmygaliova, director of a Chisinau travel agency, said that such a project is needed, especially because a major problem faced by the travel companies is the lack of accommodation places. When the pensions are opened, the agency will include Milestii Mici in tourist routes like the Wine Road, ecological or honeymoon tours. The project is financed by the German Agency “InWent” and is implemented by the International Company “Spelleken Associates” in partnership with the Quality Wine Complex “Milestii Mici”.
