Fishing in all the rivers and ponds of Moldova is banned from April 1 until June 30, IPN reports.
Fishing is prohibited in the Prut River, from the northern border of Moldova with Ukraine up to Tetcani village, in the Costesti-Stanca reservoir and from the lake’s barrage up to Giurgiulesti village, and in the Manta marshes.
On the Nistru River, fishing is banned from Naslavcea village up to Camenca town, in the Dubasari reservoir and between the barrage of the Dubasari Hydroelectric Plant and Palanca village.
Jurist of the Pisciculture Service Victor Zaharcov has told IPN that the fine for fishing in banned places varies between 100 and 400 lei for private individuals and between 4,000 and 6,000 lei for legal entities.
The fishing permit is issued by the Pisciculture Service. For one day, it costs 30 lei, while for a year – 300 lei. Pensioners pay 15 lei for a one-day permit and 150 lei for a one-year permit.
