The Environment Agency set the periods during which sport, amateur and recreational fishing in rivers and lakes is banned. The general prohibition period for this year is April 1 - June 30, IPN reports.
Fishing is prohibited for 68 consecutive days, between April 1 and June 7 on particular sectors of the Prut River. For 75 consecutive days, between April 1 and June 14, fishing on particular sectors of the Nistru River is banned. Those interested can check the restricted areas on both rivers by accessing the Environment Agency's website.
Also, fishing is prohibited for 91 consecutive days, between April 1 and June 30, on the rivers Ciorna, Răut, Ichel, Bîc, Botna, Larga, Vilia, Lopatnic, Racovăţ, Ciuhur, Camenca, Gârla Mare, Delia, Nîrnova, Lăpuşna, Sarata, Tigheci, Cogîlnic, Cahul, Ialpug. Exceptions are the aquatic and fishing facilities built on these rivers.
