Fishing banned from April 1

Fishing in all the lakes and rivers of the Republic of Moldova in the period between April 1 and June 14 is banned in a move to reproduce, restore, protect and conserve the biological water resources. The presence near lakes and rivers with fishing tools in the period is banned, IPN reports, quoting an order of the Environment Agency.

The document providers that finishing in the Nistru River on the section from Naslavcea village up to Camenca town and on the section from the Dubăsari Hydropower Plant up to Palanca village and in Turunciuc branch and Dubăsari and Cahul lakes for 75 consecutive days is banned.

The ban also covers the rivers Prut and its branches, Ciorna, Răut, Ichel, Bâc and Botna, the branches of the Nistru, the rivers Larga, Vilia, Lopatnic, Racovăţ, Ciuhur, Camenca, Gârla Mare, Delia, Nârnova, Lăpuşna, Sărata, Tigheci, etc.

Violations of the prohibition period can be reported to the local subdivisions of the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection or on the hotline 0-22-22-69-51.
