A currently unidentified man died last night because of the serious injuries suffered in a road accident. The coordinating doctor of the Chisinau Emergency Service, Eufalia Negreata, told Info-Prim Neo that at around PM 10.30 the man, aged about 40, was riding his bicycle on the Chisinau – Anenii-Noi direction. He was coming home from fishing, carrying his angling rod and some fish. Near Dobruja the man was violently hit by a car, which drove away from the site of the accident. The man, with open head fracture was found by other drivers, who called the Emergency Service. He did not survive. The road police are currently searching for the driver who left the accident place. Two women, ages 40 and 50, suffered head traumas after falling from height. They were whitewashing a house on the Studentilor Street. The scaffold didn’t resist their weight and the women fell down from 2/meter height. A drunken 54-year old man sprinkled acetone on himself and committed self immolation. The fire was extinguished immediately, but the man suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns covering 28% of the body surface being hospitalized immediately. A 32-year old woman was found dead by her 15-year old son. The doctors discovered that the woman consumed alcohol and had several traumas. Over the last 24 hours, the Chisinau Emergency service registered 745 calls, including 87 cases of virosis, 78 traumas and 3 brain strokes.
