Fish in Chisinau lake died because of too much chlorine and ammonium
The fish in the lake located on Albisoara St died because the water contained too much ammonium and chlorine and there was not enough oxygen. The results of the laboratory tests were made public at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to officials of the Preventive Medicine Center, the noxious substances entered the water as a result of releases of chemicals. The authorities announced the companies working nearby will be inspected so as to establish which of them polluted the water.
The fish in the lake died two weeks ago. Initially, it was presumed that it died because of the high temperatures.
The municipal services started to lay out the area several years ago. Until now, they removed only a part of the mud from the lake’s bottom.
