Fiscal Service looking to create multimedia communication platform

The State Fiscal Service (SFS) intends to create a multimedia platform using information and communications technology to communicate with the business community, announced Nicolae Platon, the head of the Main Fiscal State Inspectorate (IFPS), at a roundtable event on Wednesday. Platon said this objective is contained in the SFS's 2011-2015 Strategic Development Plan, noting that although the Plan started to be implemented only several months ago, it has already produced visible results. Raisa Began, representative of the Moldovan Confederation of Employers' Organization, said the business community was saluting such news. But it was also important to ensure consistency of plans; in particular, the One-Stop-Shop facility created by the IFPS should include all the institutions which collect taxes and duties, such as the National Social Insurance Corporation or the Mandatory Health Insurance Funds. Veaceslav Ionita, the head of the parliamentary Economy Commission, said the reform of fiscal administration and the introduction of new mechanisms for cooperation with the taxpayers requires efforts to enhance the SFS's reputation. SFS leadership members revealed that the Service was working on a automatized information system that would enable companies to present a single integrated report on all incomes and tax liabilities.
