At the initiative of the U.S. Embassies in Chisinau and in Bucharest, the American Chambers of Commerce of Moldova and Romania have organized the first ever American business mission to Chisinau, which will take place during June 15 - 17, 2010. Svetlana Japalau, head of the BDR Associates' Office in Moldova, has told Info-Prim Neo that this is the first American business mission that comes to Chisinau. “As a citizen, I'm glad because this shows that the American businesses are interested in making investments in Moldova and we hope there will be signed important contracts with out companies,” Svetlana Japalau said. The conference will provide the companies with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with investment opportunities in Moldova, the Moldovan Government's policies for attracting foreign investments, and the business environment in Moldova. Among the companies that will make presentations on these topics are BCR Chisinau S.A., BDR Associates Communication Group, Horizon Capital Advisors, PricewaterhouseCoopers Moldova, Turcan & Turcan, and Vernon David. U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Asif J. Chaudhry, U.S. Ambassador to Romania Mark H. Gitenstein, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, representatives of international institutions in Moldova, such as the World Bank, EBRD, and USAID, and other Moldovan business and media representatives are expected to take part in the event.
