The MPs come together for the first sitting of the spring-summer session on February 24. The decision was taken in the meeting of the legislature’s Standing Bureau, IPN reports.
Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu told the press that a plan of action for implementing the Association Agreement with the EU in 2017 was agreed with the Government and this is to be debated by Parliament this Friday.
“Among the Parliament’s priorities are the parliamentary control and laws concerning the most important reforms launched last year, those stipulated in the roadmap and those agreed with the International Monetary Fund: financial-banking system, energy, justice sector reform, fight against corruption, integrity. These are all on the list of priorities for the current session,” stated Andrian Candu, noting there will be approved the Parliament’s plan of action for 2017.
The Speaker said that he informed his colleagues from the Standing Bureau about his intention to create a working group to analyze the proposals for amending and improving the Election Code and electoral legislation, as a group of NGOs requested. The first meeting of this group will be called in at most two weeks. There, national and foreign experts and representatives of parliamentary groups will examine the electoral legislation and the recommendations of the Constitutional Court, the Venice Commission and other organizations.
