The first maneuvers to spread salt and anti-slip liquid have been performed in Chisinau last weekend. Workers of the Public Amenities Division spread over 70 tonnes of salt and around 40 tonnes of antiskid liquid, IPN reports.

In the December 30 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Public Amenities Division head Ion Burdiumov said the operations covered the whole city, including the sloping streets, such as Studenților, Sadoveanu, Dumeniuc, and Grenoble. More than 200 workers intervened with tractors, Hako equipment and manually. They cleaned snow from the sidewalks, courtyards and bus and trolleybus stations.

On the night of December 28, there was used less antiskid material, but the quantity was increased considerably last night, to 64 tonnes of salt and 35 tonnes of calcium chloride. Units of equipment with blades and brooms were used today to prevent the formation of ice. The works now continue at stations, courtyard and waste platforms.
