First round of the Moldovan-German consultations in the domain of internal affairs takes place in Chisinau
In the period of October 17-18, in Chisinau, the first round of Moldovan-German consultations in the sphere of internal affairs will take place.
According to the press service of the Ministry of External Affaires and European Integration, consultations are organized at the proposal of the Moldovan part, in order to consolidate the bilateral relations of cooperation in the domain of combating organized crime and that of the management of the migration between Germany and Moldova, as well as the development of the dialogue concerning facilitating the visa regime and readmission with the European Union. The initialization of consultations with Germany, as well as with other EU member states is part of the Chisinau’s efforts to capitalize its potential for supporting reforms in the domain of justice and internal affaires in, RM in accordance with European standards.
The agenda of the consultation includes the opinion exchange on internal affaires and facilitating the visa regime issues, which will take place in 2 stages – at the Ministry of Internal Affaires and at the Ministry of External Affaires and European Integration.
The head of the German delegation, Gerold Lehnguth, chairman of the Department for European harmonization, migration, integration and refugees, part of the Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany, will meet a range of officials representing both MIA and MEAEI. Discussions will be held at the Ministry of Informational Development concerning the security degree of the Moldovan traveling papers.
During the day of October 18, the delegation of the German Ministry of Interior will meet the commandment of the Frontier guard Service and that of the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption,
At the end of Moldovan-German consultations, participating parties will sign a common protocol that will provide a series of agreements and will assure the continuity of the Moldovan-German dialogue in the domain of internal affaires.
