Students of the State University of Comrat will be able to study Romanian alongside a professor from Romania. The courses will be taught within the first Romanian language lecturer’s office that was launched by the Embassy of Romania in Moldova on March 17, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Embassy, alongside the Information Center of Romania set up within the university, the lecturer’s office will facilitate the studying of the Romanian language and culture by students and other applicants from the region. The Romanian language courses will be taught by Professor Ovidiu Ivancu.

Attending the launch, Ambassador of Romania Marius Lazurca said the l lecturer’s office opened at the request of the University of Comrat aims to efficiently meet the needs to study Romanian. The Information Center of Romania in Comrat represents a window through which Romania can be seen as it is, with its spiritual and cultural dimensions, and as a modern state that is part of the EU and that is able to ensure a prosperous life for its people.

The Romanian language lecturer’s office was set up last November following the signing of the interinstitutional protocol between representatives of the Romanian Language Institute and the university’s administration.
