A police officer from Glodeni was arrested on suspicion of asking for 1,500 lei from a man for not remitting to court the case started against him for leaving the place of the accident.

If he is found guilty, the policeman will serve 10 years in jail and will pay a fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei, IPN has learned from the National Anticorruption Center.

The police officer was put under arrest for 72 hours.

In 2013, the National Anticorruption Center investigated over 60 policemen suspected of involvement in corruption and related acts.
