After the closure of the polling places set up in Moldova, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced a general voter turnout of 55.86%, which is 1 565 591 votes cast. Four polling places asked to be allowed to extend the working program so that al those who wanted could cast their ballots, IPN reports.
The highest voter turnout was in the municipality of Chisinau – 62.45%, while the lowest one in Basarabeasca – 42.5%. In the municipality of Balti, the turnout was 58.99%, while in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – 49.1%.
The CEC also presented the preliminary partial results of the elections based on information received electronically from 442 of the 2,073 polling places established in Moldova: the PSRM-23.37%, the PCRM – 21.21%, the PDM – 16.52%, the PLDM – 15.27%, the PCR – 6.57%, the PL – 5.04%, the BeAMUV – 4.8%, while the PLR-1.34%.
