Five of the first eight Moldovan weightlifters who competed at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia entered the Top 10. These are Daniel Lungu (61 kg, 7th place), Ion Badanev (61 kg, 8th place), Iulian Betca (55 kg, 9th place), Andrian Comerzan (55 kg, 10th place), and Ecaterina Grabucea (45 kg, 10th place), IPN reports.
The European Championships in Bulgaria also involved Nicoleta Cojocaru (55 kg, 12th place), Gabriela Danilov (45 kg, 12th place), and Alina Popescu (49 kg, 13th place).
Victor Morosanu and Constantin Bratu (both - 81 kg), Marin Robu (89 kg), Alexandrina Ciubotaru (76 kg), Tudor Bratu (102 kg), Anastasia Kylchik and Elena Erighina (both - 81 kg) are to enter the competitions.
The European Weightlifting Championships end on February 20.
