The customs authorities of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine held their first meeting at the Porubne-Siret customs post, IPN reports.
The discussions focused on a strategic initiative to strengthen cross-border cooperation by creating a regional institutional development platform for customs authorities in all three states. This platform will facilitate information exchange in an online environment.
Customs representatives also agreed on the need for joint training sessions, which will enhance the professional skills of customs personnel.
"Through continuous dialogue and trilateral cooperation, we ensure that joint measures effectively contribute to achieving strategic objectives in border security and international trade facilitation," emphasized Alexandru Iacub, Director of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova.
According to Iacub, synchronizing activities, inter-institutional collaboration in fraud prevention, and enhancing customs personnel capabilities are crucial for strengthening the customs system.
The meeting addressed border security and fraud prevention measures, as well as efforts to facilitate international trade and improve customs control efficiency.
