The sellers of martsishors – amulets worn at the chest to celebrate the coming of spring - already started to work in the center of Chisinau. They sell martsishors of different shapes, sizes and prices, Info-Prim Neo reports. As every year, most of the vendors sell such amulets on Stefan cel Mare Blvd., between the streets Pushkin and Vlaicu Parcalab. Seller Maria said she offers a wide range of martsishors for children, women and men. The prices vary between 1 leu and 30 lei. The woman said there are enough buyers, but the sales will rise closer to the end of the month. “The Moldovans observe the traditions,” she said. Andrei sells handmade martsishors. They are larger and are intended as a decoration. The price of such an amulet varies between 90 and 120 lei. The price depends on the material from which the martsishor is made and the effort made to create it. The young man said most of the buyers are ready to give more money for an original thing. Elena also sells handmade martsishors. They cost about 100 lei. “We have martsishors made from thread, wool and leather. I like making them. Furthermore, it is a possibility to win money,” said the woman. In Moldova, the people wear martsishors throughout March and then hang it on a tree.
