First lesson by class masters on September 3 to be devoted to Ion Druţă

The first lesson that will be taught by class masters in the new 2018-2019 school year will be entitled “Language, history and homeland are three pillars of a nation – Ion Druţă on his 90th birthday”. An order to this effect was signed by Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc, IPN reports.

The given lesson will focus on the writer’s biography, the topicality of the theme treated in his works, the writer’s role in promoting the national values, and his works.

Ion Druţă was born in Horodişte village of Donduşeni district on September 3, 1928. Many of his works form part of the golden stock of the national literature. Since 1987, Ion Druţă has served as the president of the Writers Union of Moldova. He is a member of honor of the Romanian Academy and a member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. On August 26, 2008, he was conferred the State Award for exceptional contribution to developing the national and universal culture and literature.

The school years start festivity will be held on September 3, beginning at 8:30am. It is recommended that the event should start with the honoring of the national symbols.
