First informal health promotion club opened in Moldova

The first informal club that promotes heath as a social value was set up in Moldova. The club “Prosanatate” is a platform allowing the relevant state institutions to interact with civil society and the mass media, which also implement health promotion measures. Founding member Petru Chitanu, chairman of the Association for Public Information “Publicmedia”, has told Info-Prim Neo that the club will inform about and promote health and will monitor the reforms implemented in healthcare. The club’s actions will be coordinated by a council composed of nine members. They will come together once in two months to discuss the work program of the club. The club “Prosanatate” is open to all the public authorities, civil society organizations and mass media as well as to the people interested in promoting health as a social value. They are encouraged to submit health promotion initiatives to prosanatate@mail.md. The initiative to found a club that would promote heath as a social value, put forward by “Publicmedia”, was supported by the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM). The founding members of the club are: CNAM director general Mircea Buga, Deputy Minister of Health Viorel Soltan, director of Prime FM Victoria Bucataru, Radio Moldova program director Adrian Petcu, journalists Vitalie Dogaru, Arcadie Gherasim, Domnica Negru, and Veronica Paslaru, and the chairman of the Association for Public Information “Publicmedia” Petru Chitanu.
