The first four contracts for the execution of periodic maintenance works on local, communal public roads and streets as part of the Good Roads Program for 2020 have been signed. Based on these, 243 km of public roads in 204 localities will be repaired, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
Under the contract clauses, roads in 204 localities in the districts of Fălești, Sângerei, Ocnița, Briceni, Șoldănești, Rezina, Nisporeni, and Ialoveni will be repaired by November at a cost of about 222 million lei. The money is allocated from the state budget.
“It is a large workload and an important state investment in infrastructure. I want to this way draw attention not only to the quantitative value of the Good Roads Program for 2020, but also to the ensuring of quality. I ask for a more rigorous and strict control over the road repair works and meeting of all standards and technological processes and to also ensure maximum transparency at the public tender contests for the other 13 lots,” said Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Sergiu Railean.
Under the state budget law, 1.375 billion lei will go to implement the Good Roads Program for 2020. The road sectors were selected based on the proposals of the local public authorities of the first level. Such criteria as the number of people in the locality, connection with schools, kindergartens, hospitals and companies that provide services for the population were used when determining the size of allocations.
