The new leader of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselski, who won the so-called presidential elections of December 11, will be replaced by Alexandr Sherba as chairman of the Supreme Soviet, which is the local legislative body. Olga Dubrovina, head of the self-styled Transnistrian Investigation Committee, who was accused of hushing up the criminal acts of the team of the ex-Transnistria leader Yevgheny Shevchuk, was suspended from post.
After reports about the withdrawal of equipment from the only so-called state broadcasting company in the Transnistrian region appeared on social networking sites, teams of militiamen were mobilized at the scene. Lidia Kolodka, who earlier served as spokeswoman for Vadim Krasnoselski, was named head of the so-called state service for the mass media.
Yevgheny Shevchuk travelled immediately to Moscow, where he is to have a series of working meetings, according to the official website.
