First building erected following optimization of judicial map inaugurated

The first building constructed in the context of the optimization of the judicial map was inaugurated in Ungheni town on February 9. This was erected in accordance with the European standards and has seven stories and a total area of 4 620 square meters. It includes eight courtrooms, a specially outfitted room for minors, a mediation bureau and four detention cells, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.

Attending the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the reformation of the justice sector continues to be a priority. “Even if there is a lot of criticism on this dimension, we move in the correct direction and see that the developments are rather positive. I want to assure you that the Government will continue to be open in communication and will draft bills designed to strengthen the judiciary,” he stated.

The Premier voiced hope that the modern infrastructure of the court of law will contribute to enhancing the quality of justice and will help judges to more efficiently fulfill the duty of protecting the rights and interests of citizens.

The Justice Palace in Ungheni town houses the Ungheni and Nisporeni courts of law, which were merged. The construction works lasted for three years and cost about 60 million lei.
