First bill registered in Parliament refers to NIA

The first legislative proposal in the Parliament of the eleventh legislature was registered. This is a bill that aims to improve the method of examining the property and interests by the National Integrity Authority (NIA), PAS MP Olesea Stamate, who heads the legal commission for appointments and immunities, informed through her Facebook page, IPN reports.

According to Olesea Stamate, the bill envisions a number of amendments that will strengthen the activity of NIA. It goes to the introduction of the declaration of assets at their real value, clarification of the role and powers of integrity inspectors and administration of NIA and of the Integrity Council, possibility of issuing a warning (instead of dismissal), but only when it goes to a minor conflict of interest, and other important changes.

The bill will be published on the Parliament’s website towards the end of the day and any interested person will be able to examine it.

The given bill was proposed for public consultations last week. The draft law was signed by 19 MPs.
