First appointments at Costești customs posts through BQS system

The Customs Service started piloting the digital system for scheduled border crossing, BQS, at the Costești customs post. Representatives of the customs post told IPN that seven truck drivers have been scheduled to cross the border so far this morning and one of them completed the control procedures. Carriers no longer have to stand in line and present themselves at the border control at the time selected in the scheduling process.

The BQS system is available online on desktop and in mobile app form through the App Store and Play Store. The appointment is made in four steps. The carriers must select the Costești customs post, the day and time of the border crossing. Subsequently, they must fill information about the transport, the company and driver. The last step is to confirm the reservation.

At the customs posts located on the Moldovan-Romanian border, an average of 30,000 trucks are cleared monthly on the way out to the EU. Historically, carriers spend a significant part (40%-90%) of the transit time at the border, especially at Moldovan-Romanian border crossing points.
