The traditional fireworks with which the program of events dedicated to the Day of Chisinau City ended the previous years may be missing this year, the head of the Public Relations Division of the Chisinau City Hall Vadim Branzariuc said in the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
According to Branzariuc, the City Hall gave up buying fireworks with public money because they are very expensive. But the residents of Chisinau can still admire the firework display if somebody agrees to sponsor it. “We will be waiting for someone to offer to finance the fireworks up to the last moment. There is now no sponsor yet,” he stated.
The official also said that the program of events on the Day of Chisinau City, as usual, starts with laying of flowers at the monument to ruler Stefan the Great. Afterward, after a service at the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca will deliver a speech in the Great National Assembly Square. The program also includes exhibitions, recitals and a performance to reconstruct the historical Romanian area by the Romanian Guard of Alba Iulia. The program will end with a concert by singers from Moldova, Romania and Germany.
Fifty guests from Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, Georgia, Austria, Turkey, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Italy came to Chisinau at the invitation of the Chisinau City Hall to take part in the events staged on the Day of Chisinau City.
