Fires killed 3 yesterday
Three persons died in fires produced on Tuesday, November 6, on the territory of Moldova.
According to the Service for Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 59 year old man died of intoxication with carbon monoxide. The fire started in the man’s house in Barladeni village in Ocnita district, as a result of the man’s imprudence while smoking.
A similar case was recorded in Donduseni town, where a 51 year old man died and a shed in his yard completely burned down.
Careless smoking also caused another fire in a house in Puhaceni village, Anenii-Noi district. The 68 year old owner of the house died of carbon monoxide intoxication.
The Service for Civil Protection and Emergencies cautions the citizens to respect the fire safety rules and to pay attention while smoking, as well as not to overheat the stoves or to let them unsupervised while heating.
During this year 2284 fires were recorded in which 144 persons died.
