Fires claim two lives
A young man and an old woman died in home fires in northern Moldova.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the first fire broke out in a house in Ocnita town. After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters found the body of the owner, a 23-year-old man, in one of the rooms. A dropped cigarette is being blamed for the fire.
A woman aged 88 was killed in a fire in her house in the municipality of Balti. The cause of fire is being established.
The rescuers in Orhei and employees of the Emergencies Service, helped by the police, took the body of a 55-year-old man out of the well located in the yard of his house. An investigation is underway.
The 201 fires that happened in Moldova this year took 42 lives.
