Fires claim two lives
Two persons died from carbon monoxide poisoning in fires on Monday evening. Sergiu Barbu, spokesman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that a 55-year-old woman was found dead in a villa in the suburbs of Sangerei town after the fire was extinguished. Allegedly, the fire was caused by a gas lamp.
The second fire broke out in a house in Marandeni village of Falesti district. A 52-year-old man fell asleep with the lit cigarette and died in the fire.
The 1,845 fires that happened in Moldova this year caused the death of 124 persons, including four children.
