Fires cause new victims
Two pensioners, a man and a woman, died in fires in their homes last night.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that one fire broke out in a house in Nisporeni town. After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters found the body of the owner of the house, a 78-year-old woman. Allegedly, the fire was caused by a candle or lamp.
A house caught fire in Zaicani village of Rascani district. The 82-year-old owner of the house was found dead in one of the rooms. A defective stove is being blamed for the fire.
A man aged 36 living on Magda Isanos St in Chisinau got poisoned with fumes and was taken to the Emergency Hospital. The man fell asleep with a burning cigarette. A relative saw smoke coming out of his room and woke him up.
Eight fires happened in Moldova yesterday and last night. Forty-six persons lost their lives in fires since the start of this year, by seven more than in the corresponding period last year.
