Fires cause five deaths during ten days
Five persons died from carbon monoxide poisoning in fires blamed on lit cigarettes during the last ten days, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Two men were killed in fires on November 26. A 64-year-old man died at his villa in Ialoveni district. The second man aged 67 got poisoned in his own house in Cosnita village of Dubasari district.
According to the data provided by the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the 2,032 fires that happened in Moldova this year claimed 139 lives, including of four children. 74 of the victims were killed in fires caused by lit cigarettes.
