Fire risks continue to threat the capital city

The Chisinau Department for Emergency Cases warns of fire risks that will continue to threaten the capital city the next week as well. The interim chief of the Civil Protection unit of the department, Vitalie Mutaf, informed during a City Council session on Monday August 6 about the increasing frequency of fires in the capital. According to his statements, the fires are caused by the high temperatures, as well as by the ignorance of the people resting in the parks. Vitalie Mutaf requested each district authorities and the city police to actively involve in patrolling the parks, since the Department of Exceptional Chisinau doesn’t have the necessary staff for it. During last week alone 66 fires have been spotted, 18 of them on Sunday. No victims were recorded; however 5 vehicles were seriously damaged. The cited source remarked that the weather forecasts predict high temperatures of 30-34 Celsius degrees, posing increased fire risks.
