A fire started in an apartment situated on the ninth floor of a block of flats in Chisinau in the morning of March 4. Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Pușcașu said there was no one in the apartment when the firemen went in. The dwellers of the neighboring apartments were evacuated.

Four firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. The call to the 112 service was made at about 9am and the fire was liquidated in about half an hour. No one was hurt.

The cause of fire is yet to be found out.
