More than 20 people, including seven children, were evacuated last night, November 2, after a fire broke out in a residential block in the capital's Botanica sector. According to firefighters, flames have burned the electrical panels on the 5th and 9th floors and a closet with several material goods on the sixth floor, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations mentions that the fire on Dacia Boulevard was announced at around 9 pm. Six fire crews were sent on scene, including two auto ladders. As the staircase of the block was filled with dense smoke, the tenants were evacuated and the children were taken out with protective masks.
The fire was located in about an hour, and at 10.30 pm the liquidation was announced. According to IGSU, the electrical panels on the staircase of the block and a closet were damaged. No one suffered, and the circumstances and cause of the fire will be determined later.
A few days ago, a fire broke out in a hostel in Buiucani sector of the capital, and as a result, five people, including two minors, suffered burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. In that case, a 60-year-old man was arrested, who is suspected of causing the fire.
