Fire destroys office of Ministry of Informational Technologies
Last night, a fire destroyed an office of the Ministry of Informational Technologies. The firemen have quickly stopped the expansion of the fire.
Head of the Exceptional Situations Department, Andrei Sumleanschi told Info-Prim Neo that the fire occurred after 4.00 in the office situated on the 4th floor. The fire started in a room where defective computers were kept. All the goods from the office had burnt down.
The head of the Firemen and Rescuers Department, Anatol Viniciuc told Info-Prim Neo that the alarm signal was received at 4.46. Immediately three fire engines with a brigade of 12 firemen went to the place where the fire was detected.
According to Viniciuc, the fire started in a room of about 60 square meters separated in two smaller rooms. The firemen were divided into two squads which extinguished the fire, despite the dense smoke which was making the process difficult.
A commission was created in order to find out the causes of the fire. At the moment, several versions are examined and the most probable is the overheating of a transformer of the alarm system.
The head of the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Informational Technologies, Ilie Bobeico told Info-Prim Neo that no information is available so far he. Subsequently he confirmed that the fire occurred in a deposit with used spare parts and that nothing important burnt, but the out of order spare parts.
