Fire destroys house in Durlesti

A house in Durlesti town of Chisinau municipality was destroyed by flames almost completely. The owner of the house and her son managed to escape, but suffered first- and second-degree burns. Diana Turcanu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire happened in the evening of February 21. Allegedly, the family broke the rules of using the stove. The fire destroyed the objects in two rooms and the roof. Only the walls of the house remained intact. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet said that the 62-year-old owner of the house sustained first- and second-degree burns on the hands and face, while her son aged 35 suffered second-degree burns on the back and legs. They both were admitted to the National Traumatology and Orthopedics Hospital. The woman has a daughter who lives nearby and one more son whose domicile is in Chisinau. The over 400 fires that occurred in Moldova so far this year claimed 45 lives, including of three children.
