Fire causes one death
A man died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a house fire in Antonesti village of Stefan-Voda district.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the clothes on the bed situated near an overheated stove caught fire. The body of the 70-year-owner of the house was found in the neighboring room. He did not manage to get out. An investigation is under way.
The 96 fires that happened in Moldova this year claimed 19 lives. Eleven persons were killed in fires caused by lit cigarettes.
