A restaurant located in Rascani district of Chisinau started to burn in the evening of January 11. The persons who were inside were evacuated before the firefighters arrived. Two men suffered hand burns as they tried to put out the fire before the firefighting teams reached the place.
The firefighting service was called out to the fire at 5/3 Kiev St at 8:42pm. Four firefighting and rescue teams travelled to the scene. The two men aged 24 and 54 who suffered burns received medical care and were taken to the hospital.
Asked by IPN to provide details, press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Puscasu said that the fire was localized at about 9:30pm and was fully extinguished close to 2:00am. The cause of fire is not yet known. This is to be found out by experts of the anti-fire lab.
According to the police, which also traveled to the scene, the fire started from the fireplace located inside the restaurant.
