Fire at monastery in southern Moldova
The storehouse of “Saint Dumitru” Monastery situated in Ceadir-Lunga town caught fire. More than a half of the religious items stored there were destroyed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Most probably the fire was caused by a smoldering cigarette, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Dorina Sochirca has told Info-Prim Neo.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The damage caused by the fire was assessed at 1,000 lei.
The 1 786 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 108 deaths.
