The children of the Chisinau-based Kindergarten No. 75 have been evacuated in the morning of September 2 after the storehouse located on the institution’s territory caught fire. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and the fire was extinguished swiftly.

Contacted by IPN, the kindergartens’ director Eleonora Erimia said the fire affected a small area of the storehouse and didn’t manage to expand. The children were evacuated. A part of the children were taken home by their parents, while the rest were taken to other nursery schools.

According to the director, the fire was caused by a short circuit. Specialists work on the spot to remedy the situation. Most probably, the kindergarten will resume work next Monday.

Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said two firefighting vehicles were sent to the scene. The flames engulfed only a small area of the kindergarten’s food storehouse, of about two square meters.
