More than 60 students of the Polyvalent Vocational School of Cimișlia town were evacuated last night following a fire in their dorm, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, a firefighting team travelled immediately to the scene. The students were evacuated so as to avoid poisonings by fumes. The fire was caused by an electric switch board on the third floor of the dorm. The fire was extinguished swiftly and no one was hurt.

Last night, the firefighters also put out a fire that started in a private home in Căinari town of Căușeni district. The flames engulfed three rooms and the carbonized body of a man was found in one of them.

The 1,533 fires that occurred in Moldova so far this year claimed 83 lives, including of a minor.
