Fire and Drowning Prevention Month conducted in Chisinau
The Interiors Ministry's Service for Civil Protection and Emergencies is conducting the Fire and Drowning Prevention Month in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The intervention includes inspections that will be carried out in residential areas, in institutions with children, especially in summer camps.
The Service is warning persons having charge of buildings to endow them with primary instruments for extinguishing fires. The Service also warns that it is forbidden to start fires in forested areas and burn stubble after harvesting, as well as smoking in unauthorized places.
To prevent drownings, the Service advises to avoid swimming in unknown places and at night, supervise swimming children, avoid waterbeds, tires, boards and other improvised swimming implements.
332 fires occurred in Chisinau from the beginning of the year, killing 16 persons. 7 persons drowned in the same period, the last case being registered on July 18 at La Izvor Park.
