The last silver and red baubles and festoons and LED lighting systems have been put on the Christmas tree set up in the Great National Assembly Square. The tree will be inaugurated on December 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. Lidia Babara, the representative of the Green Areas Administration Association, said they used a part of the decorations that remains from last year and new baubles. The 300 baubles bought this year cost 11,000 lei. The older decorations are kept in the store. A part of them will be given to the mayor’s office of Bozieni, Hancesti, from where the fir tree for Chisinau was bought. Green Areas Administration Association employee Elena Puiu said that this year they decorated the tree swiftly as there are baubles of only two colors and they were fewer in number than last year. The winter holidays in Chisinau will be officially opened at 8pm on December 1. National and Romanian singers will give a concert in the central square of the capital city. The Christmas tree cost the Chisinau City Hall 11,000 lei. The fir is about 25 meters in height. It is the highest tree placed in central Chisinau during the last 20 years.
