Civic activist Fiodor Ghelici made public a statement on behalf of “Moldova mea” association that he heads, by which they demand that the President of Moldova should be dismissed, Parliament should be dissolved and snap legislative elections should be announced.
In a news conference at IPN, Fiodor Ghelici said the Moldovan citizens believed that after they elect Igor Dodon President, they will live in a state with the rule of law and this will be the President of everyone. But Igor Dodon remained the president of the Party of Socialists and his actions are directed by the Kremlin.
According to Fiodor Ghelici, the situation witnessed currently in Parliament is due to the President as he and the PSRM continue to place the own interests at the forefront. “You should contribute to the formation of a coalition in Parliament in the interests of Moldova and its people, but you chose another way – the path of confrontation and political crisis,” stated the activist, addressing President Dodon.
Fiodor Ghelici noted the President promised he will fight corruption and unjust enrichment among high-ranking officials and to bring the Moldovans who work abroad home, but delivered none of these promises. On the contrary, he favors the leaving of young people and the best people of the country. He also promised to set up a commission for investigating the banking fraud and not allowing making the repayment of this money the people’s burden, but also didn’t keep his word.
The activist said the living conditions in the country worsened after Igor Dododn was elected President. “Name at least one bill you proposed in Parliament that would be aimed at increasing the population’s welfare, fighting corruption and unjust enrichment and annulling the immunity of MPs,” he stated, addressing Igor Dodon.
By this statement, the about 500 members of “Moldova mea” accuse President Dodon of protecting the corrupt people, of lying and of betrayal. “You are our mistake, our disappointment and our shame,” noted Fiodor Ghelici.
The statement is to be transmitted to the President’s chancellery on May 21.
