Fiodor Ghelici wants to destroy National Horseracing School, statement

The administration of the National Horseracing and Modern Pentathlon School issued a communiqué, where it accuses the chairman of the public association “Moldova Mea” Fiodor Ghelici of profiting from the critical situation experienced by the school so as to reinstate the former director, IPN reports.

The communiqué says that Fiodor Ghelici defends the former director of the school Mihail Andronic because the latter and those from “Moldova Mea” want to appropriate the 8 hectares of land owned by the school in central Chisinau. They want to build elite houses there.

The school’s administration also says that Fiodor Ghelici wants to reinstate the former director who destroyed the school for 18 years. During six months after he was reinstated, he proved that he lacked managerial skills and was cruel to animals. He had a derisory attitude towards the personnel and could pay the salaries with a delay of three months.

In a news conference, Ghelici suggested closing the National Horseracing School and keeping the state-owned horses in private horseracing institutions. He said the school keeps 43 state-owned horses, 28 horses that belong to the police, and 23 horses that are privately owned. The horses of businessmen are well fed and looked after, while the state’s horses are in a very poor state. A part of them are not walked out, while another part needs treatment and rehabilitation.
