The National Bank of Moldova remains committed to creating projects of financial education for the general public and of training future experts for the financial-banking sector. This was stated National Bank Governor Octavian Armașu during the inauguration of FINPractice - a training center for financial specialists from the Republic of Moldova, hosted by the Center for Excellence in Economics and Finance.
Armașu pointed out that the project highlights the path towards a developed economy as the evolution of the financial and banking sector demands from the market participants a continuous enrichment of knowledge and adaptation to the new requirements, which are becoming more and more complex. “We think it is a project that sets the foundation for another model of economy that we hope to build in a predictable future, and for this we need citizens who understand what modern financial instruments are and how to use them. Only in this way we can develop a middle class that will underpin sustainable economic growth,” Octavian Armașu said in a press release.
The governor remarked that the National Bank of Moldova remains committed to creating projects of financial education. He thanked the Austrian Development Agency in Moldova for their support to implement the project ”Training center for finance specialists in the Republic of Moldova.”
The project is based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2018 by the National Bank, the National Commission for the Financial Market, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, and the Center for Excellence in Economics and Finance.
The beneficiaries are both employees of the banking and non-banking sector, as well as young graduates of economic education institutions in the country and managers of start-up companies. They have the opportunity to develop their professional skills, to study the new prudential regulations regarding the implementation of Basel III standards, the insurance business, and the ABCs of entrepreneurship. The training courses are free of charge.
