The violation of the quarantine regime will be penalized. The Government approved relevant amendments to a number of legal acts. The persons who will not obey the quarantine regime and those who will write incorrect data in the epidemiological questionnaires face fines, while in serious cases even criminal liability, IPN reports.
The Contravention Code will be supplemented with a new article concerning the non-observance of the pandemic disease prophylaxis, prevention and combating measures. The fines for endangering public health will oscillate between 22,000 and 25,000 lei in the case of private individuals and between 50,000 and 75,000 lei in the case of legal entities.
A fine of up to 25,000 lei will be imposed for false or incomplete presentation of data and for refusal to compete the epidemiological questionnaires.
Among the authorities responsible for identifying irregularities are the Ministry of the Interior and the National Public Health Agency and also the Border Police if the offense is discovered at border crossing points.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked to finalize the document as swiftly as possible so as to send it to Parliament as a matter of urgency.
