As from July, the financial support offered to long-living married couples and centenarians who have the residence visa in the municipality of Chisinau will be higher, IPN reports.

The Chisinau City Hall said that under the Municipal Council’s decision, the financial support provided to couples when they celebrate the 50th marriage anniversary or the golden jubilee of a marriage is 5,700 lei, on the 60th wedding anniversary – 7,500 lei, on the 70th wedding anniversary – 10,000 lei per couple. Earlier, all the categories of long-living couples got by 1,000 lei.

Also, the persons who are 100 years old or more will receive by 5,000 lei in financial support.

Applications can be filed by persons who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova with the residence visa in the municipality of Chisinau and with an uninterrupted marriage. The civil status documents must be presented in the original. Applications to benefit from financial support can be submitted to the Chisinau City Hall in the course of the year the persons/couples celebrate the respective anniversary.

The initiative to offer financial support to long-living couples dates from 1997. The goal is to promote the traditional family, respect-based family relations and a healthy lifestyle.
