Twelve children that are orphan or have been left without parental care and who will start school this year have received 4,000 lei in financial aid each from the Chisinau authorities, IPN reports.

The future first graders met on Friday with representatives of the Chisinau administration, who offered them gifts and school supplies. Their good-time culminated with a trip to the local marine mammal park.

The Chisinau authorities keep under supervision 1,400 children without parental care.
